New licenses for Long Distance & International (LDI) and Local Loop (LL) operations have been issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to a number of companies. Spectrum auction has also taken place for the 1.9 GHz, 479 Mhz, 3.5 GHz and 450 Mhz frequency bands that would be used by these new telecom operators (DVCom, Telecard, WorldCall, Al-Warid), to operate their networks
